Your First Experiment
Create and launch your first experiment in minutes.
1. Log In & Create Experiment
Go to platform.getdalton.com → Click "Optimize Single Page"
For multi-page experiments, see Multi-Page Experiments
2. Enter Page URL
Enter your page URL. Dalton runs a CRO scan and shows you Insights—AI-generated experiment ideas with ICE scores (Impact, Confidence, Ease).
3. Set Conversion Goal
Choose what to optimize:
- Button clicks
- Form submissions
- Page views (e.g., thank you pages)
- Custom GA4 events
Can be changed later in settings
4. Create Variants
Three ways to create experiments:
- Accept from Insights — One-click to turn a suggestion into an experiment
- Prompt the AI — Tell it what you want to test ("make headline more urgent")
- Select any element — Click on the page and edit directly
5. Review & Approve Variants
Review all variants before they go live. You approve everything - nothing goes live without your confirmation.
6. Install Script
Add Dalton to your site if you haven't already: Installation Guide
7. Launch
Press "Launch Experiments" to go live with multi-armed bandit optimization.
Integrations
Connect Dalton with Google Analytics to pull conversion events automatically. See Analytics Integration for setup.
What Happens Next?
- Traffic is split automatically: Visitors see different variants based on the optimization algorithm
- Results appear in real-time: Monitor performance in the Results Dashboard
- Algorithm learns continuously: Better-performing variants get more traffic automatically
- Get insights in 2-4 weeks: Most experiments show directional results within a month
